May 2020 New Arrivals
Posted by -Kamikaze Dan on 5/23/2020
I hope everybody is still surviving and maintaining okay. In my own life, the last two-three weeks have been the utmost in brutality, because of my job. We're in a wild frenzy at the moment, I've been working particularly long and grueling hours, but our deadline was Friday so over the weekend I could breathe a sigh of relief, relax, and think about records again.
At this time, packages are still coming and going with some delays and wacky routing, but overall things are mostly fine for mail here in the USA. So order with confidence, if you feel like some new records will bring a little light into these dark days.
This month we made a Facebook page. I can hear the local 5G Mind Control Towers beaming your cries of "sell outs!" (picked up from your Amazon smart-blender of course) straight into my brain. Well, seeing as neither of us actually have Facebook pages, it's a bit of a dead end, but, you know, if you like the page I can really lord it over Scott and that would make me laugh, so give it a click if you feel like it. The Facebook page is basically becoming a repository for these monthly e-mails, so if it's easier to catch a glance periodically and see where we're at, that'll be the spot.

MAY NEW ARRIVALS
For me, the biggest winner this month is the new issue of Our Future zine. Roddy really outdid himself with this one. I thought these interviews were so fascinating and informative, bringing fresh perspectives on some of my favorite bands, and the accompanying 7" is fucking terrific with one of the best Decade tracks to date. We still have a handful left but I'd be quick about it if you want one.
The other big winner for me was Sexpill EP. The who/why/how of this isn't so clear to me but what the fuck ever, this record kicks so much ass!! Total Ghoul/Zouo/Anti-Septic/etc mettalic Japanese hardcore belligerence with a particularly chaotic and raw sound. Everything clicks so hard here, it's the kind of madness I love in a punk record but is difficult to actually create. Highly recommended.
Other stuff we have now:
for the noise believers, I'd grab Gerogerigegege previously unreleased LP, Sissy Spacek new EP, Seven Minutes of Nausea reissue, Vile Horrendous Aerial Bombardment previously unreleased LP
for the speed freaks, we got Agathocles reissue of 80's recordings, PLF new LP, Transient+Bastard Noise collaboration LP, Sidetracked/Suppression split 7"
for the d-beat afficianados, you already know you need Dissekerad/Earth Crust Displacement split 7" and Heavy Nukes/Earth Crust Displacement split 7", but did you know about the brand spankin new Warchild EP and new Disable EP?
for the punx, we really liked Laffing Gas LP and Cold Feet LP, and if you're into South American stuff specifically, you already know you need Muro LP, and probably you know Uzi LP, but did you know Los Laxantes EP?
If you love that classic Italian hardcore sound, check out Tuono LP, and if you don't even know about that shit yet, start with the immaculate Wretched early years collection LP.
If you thought those industrial crust feature articles floating around the internet were interesting, check out Saw Throat 2xLP reissue, and if you want to continue down the crust rabbithole, do yourself a favor and scope Scatha discography 2xLP if you don't already own everything by this classic and influential band.
For more commentary on this stuff and more, please scope our Instagram page, where we review choice new arrivals as they come. If it sounds cool when we talk about it, it'll sound even cooler when you hear it streaming on the online store, and even cooler still when you buy the record and slap it on your turntable.
