Description:
"Interesting name for this hardcore group that is quite popular here in Lima. It has existed since December 1991. Lyrics such as that of his song "Rompe los espemas" overflow with existentialism and skepticism. They reveal an attitude of permanent questioning, but an overwhelming resignation and despair, in addition to an individualism that must be quite pleasing to our well-hated social system. Here are the Dictatorship of Conscience:"

José: DDC means that the only dictatorship that is upon us and irremediably we have to endure is that of our own conscience, formed from the earliest age by prejudice and ignorance.

Martín: That conscience is nourished by ethical norms of a social nature that the individual accepts as his own but that in reality are not.

Carlos: Our purpose as a band is to express our ideas.

Joseph: And we don't tell anyone what to do, everyone will know which way to go.

Martín: In form we consider ourselves an underground band, but in essence we are not. We are part of an alternative culture because we move in a different circuit than the conventional one and we do not do what they usually promote.
Excerpt from an interview with DDC in the fanzine 'Ataque Anarco' #3, November 1993.
