BARROWS is a hardcore punk band active in northern Hyogo Prefecture (on the border with Tottori Prefecture)! They have self-released their debut album! A D-beat raw punk attack created entirely through DIY self-recording! Limited pressing of 500 copies!
BARROWS is a three-piece D-beat raw punk group that has been active with a stable lineup in the Tajima region of northern Hyogo Prefecture since 2015!
Influenced by pioneers such as Discharge, Disclose, Discard, and Crude S.S.—and having previously released a first demo and a first 7-inch EP in 2018—they are finally releasing their debut album in 2026 on a 45-RPM 12-inch format!
Recorded in June 2025 at the warehouse that serves as their rehearsal space, this album features a total of 12 tracks, comprising both brand-new, previously unreleased songs and re-recordings of earlier material. They brought in their own MTR equipment and handled the recording entirely DIY. Perhaps due to this primitive recording method that eschews modern technology, they have brilliantly achieved a level of merciless, destructive power akin to Discharge’s *Why*—something other D-beat raw punk bands have attempted but failed to capture over the last few decades!
While their style is unconcerned with notions of progress or originality, the overwhelming impact that strikes the moment the needle drops embodies the primal energy of hardcore punk—serving, perhaps, as a wake-up call for the next generation.
