Believe in Punk opened up in February 2020, born out of the old SPHC Records BigCartel shop. If you go to that webpage, you can find a lot of Dan rambling about why Believe in Punk came to be.
A few years into operation, Believe in Punk is a loose group of guys that come and go at random, talk records amongst themselves, never agree on anything except our collective favorite band Sockeye, but also never lose focus on trying to make the most interesting and exciting punk music from around the world easily accessible.
By this point, Believe in Punk is just one Dan scurrying about his apartment, listening to anime podcasts, and laughing it up with the post office, UPS, and FedEx employees a few times a week. But I still believe that punk has the potential to be a path towards freedom and community, a form that can be intelligent and expressive. I try to live my life with intention and thoughtfulness, and that includes punk in my life.
